The keys to energy security are assurance of supply and diversity of sources. As India seeks to secure her energy security needs, it is probable that she will seek to explore new options. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have led to spiraling oil prices which have adversely affected the Indian economy. The major impediments to India's ability to secure her energy are inadequate domestic energy capacity, the conflicting interests with China and India's geographic location. The Indian government has followed a policy of resource diversification. Overland trans-national energy pipelines are one of the options being explored by India to meet her energy security requirements. Overland trans-national energy pipelines by their very nature incorporate multiple nations (source nations, transit nations and destination nations) and are affected by regional and geo-strategic interests of the nations involved. The Present piece of scientific work focused on the detailed study of Moringa oleifera leaves. This includes pharmacognostical standardization covering the botanical and physicochemical parameters along with phytochemical standardization and HPTLC analysis. Motive behind the study is to establish the nutritional and phytochemical value of this folk medicinal plant, so as to increase its socio-economic & medicinal uses in rural as well as in urban part of world. Pharmacognostic study of fresh leaf, powder and anatomical sections were carried out to determine its macroscopical and microscopical characters. Various physicochemical parameters viz. Loss on drying, Ash values, Extractive values, Crude fiber content, Foaming Index and Swelling index, were studied. Phytochemical standardization includes estimation of various secondary metabolites and HPTLC analysis of biomarker kaempferol. The results obtained from the ongoing work reveals the utility of herb as a nutritional supplement and an important medicinal plant for further elaborated study.

The existing potato system reveals that the farmers has highly diversified cropping pattern while the optimum plan developed reveals that there were ample scopes of increasing farm income through optimal allocation of resources.The per cent increase in net farm family income of a potato producer over existing income situation was more in improved market situation.The recommended policies are strengthened of extension services, market support and input supply system through mobile teams and declaration of price support for the crop by the government.Further, implementation of Mandi Act, organization of farmers cooperatives ans self help groups, etc are other suggestions that might help farm
